The flamboyant Tree, also called the Fire Tree, is spectacular when in full bloom in June. It is indigenous to Madagascar yet is popular in the Caribbean. When it finishes blooming it creates a carpet of red scarlet flowers on the ground. In addition to being appreciated for its flamboyant display, its pods are the initial shak-shak of calypso renown.
